Engine oil level

It could be all sitting in the head so be careful the gallery's arent restricted. Put the rocket cover breather into a vented bottle and start it up. Might be worth doing an engine flush.
Thats exactly what i was thinking.... especially as it coincides with a cyl head replacement...
Not sure where the drain galleries are located in the camshaft space, but if theres some paper towel or some such blocking them, that whole cam cover space could easily hide 2 litres i reckon.
Although, after it eventually drained down, you would be miles overfilled on the dipstick...

Give it a test run again and when the sticks showing nowt, open the cam cover filler and have a look.

It looks like there are 5 large drain holes/ports in the head, around 1" in dia so I can't really see head drainage being a problem TBH.

Drained all rhe oil out, 6 litres in all. No blockage on cam cover drains. Refilled with 9.2 , on cold level is midway on gauge, when warm drops to low bar. Faulty level sender. Will get a new one. Thanks to all for help and advice.

So all along it was about oil pressure who would have thunk it :icon-lol:
