I took my 70 through lots of water yesterday and everything was fine until. typically, I thought I would have one last run through it before going home. The charge light, turbo red light, filter light and timing belt light came on.

Couldn't figure out if it was the alternator or charge regulator that was at fault. Drove home, jetwashed the truck and then took it down to the garage this morning.

The fix? 3 sharp percussive blows to the top of the alternator body with a bar and hammer and hey presto it works. I've done this on starter motors before to release the soleniod but never knew this could be appled on alternators as well.

It was probably a bit of moisture/mud on the brushes. Had this issue with both my 120 and LB when I have offroaded them. With the 120 it went away on it's own after a few days :D and on LB I took the alternator out and just gave it a good clean.... problem solved
