Newbie owner of a 79 FJ40 with hard top. I am considering removing the roof in summer (when/if it arrives). Ambulance doors will have to be taken off and replaced with a tailgate. Doesn't need to be OEM, replica is fine i guess. There seem to be plenty fabrications for sale in the US, just wondering if anyone has any ideas in the UK? Appreciate any pointers/suggestions. Tx.

I had the same problem and although there were loads in the US they were very expensive plus shipping etc, so I made one from a pair of old barn doors. If you decide to go that way there is a thread in the 40 archive - evolution of my 40.
