I am new to the site as I just became a new owner of a restored 1975 BJ-40. Like many others on here I will be looking for advise from time to time. Would any body know what grade of oil that I should be running in this 3.0L diesel. So far my local Toyota dealership has not been very helpful.

Welcome.
In a low tech engine like that I would use a 15/40 or 10/40 straight mineral oil and change it every 5K. These engines weren't designed with synthetic oil in mind. Always use a genuine Toyota oil filter though.

BTW where in Canada are you?

Hello and welcome...

Always good to have another BJ40 in the fold, particularly another 1975!

As Andy asked whereabouts are you in Canada, as some of us have spent time there and/or have family living there.

Photos of your truck? We do like photos.....

Regards,

Rodger
