Great news Ben! Where you starting out?

I'm heading over in April for holiday.

Congrats Ben. Glad all the work and cost was worth it.

So when are you off?

Well done Ben, now, how much time have you got to fix the truck before you go?

well done Ben - fantastic result!

well done matey, a nice bright future ahead by the sounds of it

Well done!

Where abouts are you heading?

Have you got anything lined up for work over there yet?

I was aiming for an 857 visa before it all fell through... :(

Thanks guys.

Not sure on an exact date yet, need to finalise all the costs involved and work out how much money I've got and how much its going to cost me.

Id imagine some time in January/February. :icon-cool:

Going to have one last Christmas with the family. :icon-biggrin:

Id quite like to finish work and have a month at home sorting my truck and everything else out.

My rough plan is fill a container and then jump on a plane.

That should give me 6 weeks+ to find some where to live, find a job, open bank accounts, get a phone, and buy a car. Before my container arrives.

I'm hoping the guy I worked for when I was there a few years ago is still in business and has some work for me.

Bit scary really, but I know I'm going to have a great life out there. :violin:

Heading for Victoria Ed. :icon-cool:

I was in Mornington (just South of Melbourne) for 6 months when i was over there, so know a few people. So will probably base myself there if I can find work.

Condition of my VISA is that I stay in Victoria for the first 2 years.

Im hoping to get qualified as a welder/machine driver in that time. Then when my 2 years are up go and work in the mines for a few years and hopefully earn a load of money.

Then move to Byron Bay and buy some land and build a house.

Thats the dream anyway. :icon-cool:

It's a good dream Ben, and you have the drive and commitment to see it through.

Best of luck and fortune, you deserve it !

At least you've had a taste of being upside-down
