Hello everyone !
I'm Michael 27 years old living in Greece.
I'm into photography and long trips. So it was inevitable to end up with the idea of purchasing a 78 series Land Cruiser. First i was looking at Rubicon and old 110 Defender.
But here in Greece we literally have nothing except Rubicon with Solid axles and it costs over 90k euro. My local Toyota dealership only sells the LC 250 . They told me that they probably won't sell any 78 units here.
Greece only accepts Euro 4 and above and we have a very expensive first registration tax especially for new cars. Example : i can find a new 78 in Europe for 60k (include VAT) but in order to bring it in my country i need to pay an additional of 30K . Second example a used 110 Defender 2016 with 100.000km that costs 40k (incl Vat) will cost me another 11k to bring it here.
Firstly i looked at the reliable 1HZ engine , but its only available for outside of EU like Dubai/Africa etc, so that's not an option.
The only option is the 1GR FE engine that comes with Euro 6D but it's petrol and 4000cc.... If anyone have a GRJ78 i would like to send me a message or reply here because i have some questions about fuel consumption , overall experience and suggestions. I found new GRJ78 in Italy/France/Switzerland/Netherlands/Germany .
