How do I get grease in this?

It’s a potters wheel. 30+ years old. The threaded cup is about 21mm 1.5 pitch, but I’m guessing really an imperial equivalent.

I’ve never seen a fitting like this before. I’m guessing I need some sort of cap adapter for my regular (does my UJs) grease gun. But not knowing what it might be called it’s proving a tough Google.

Any pointers very welcome.

The cap holds more grease than will fit so as you tighten it grease is forced into the bearings , seen plenty like that on 50+ year old fishing boats .

Brilliant, thank you. Shaft nicely lubed again. That's much easier than my UJs!

Old woodworking machinery had the same set up.

Often the manual will state "give the grease cup cap 1/4 or 1/2 a turn every day or week ...it's not a one shot wind it up tight job
