HZJ75 Windscreen washer switch removal

Hi all,

One of the wires has come off the back of my windscreen wiper switch, causing the windscreen washers to fail. My question is, does the steering wheel need to be removed to take off the wiper switch, or is there an easier way? I'm looking to solder the wire back on.

I am guessing the answer is yes, the below is from the manual

I think the only way you will get to all these wires is to pull the wheel first.

Sorry but the manual doesn't specifically say.

Looks from the diagram I can pull the wiper and washer switch off, but not sure it's possible to get to the screws. Guess I'll have to pull the wheel, bugger!
