    Hi

    I've just purchased a 2001 land cruiser 3.4 petrol ( VZJ 95) for offroad...
But I was so unlucky ( scamed actually ) and the rear dif has gone
My local mechanic, not a toyota lad or offroad maniac , has said that the dif needs replacing - as it had a crack or something and had been fixed with a sort of glue...he said it's easier to replace the all axle
I've found few but I don't know which one is the right one
Where can I find the code?
When spoken to an local Toyota parts, they've also said - try and get the code from the axle
The axle is rusty and covered with some paint...is there any other place to find it please?
    Thank you

The ratio should be written on a white sticker on the front diff tube .

    Thanks both
I'm not sure how much damage is inside as has started squeaking then some knocks before I've 'abandoned ' near a garage...I was just driving home after the purchase !
Then the mechanic said it'll be better of buying a complete axle...pfff...stuck !

Its a permanent 4 wheel drive so just remove a prop and you can drive it home as if its a front wheel drive car .
