Evening legends , my current insurance company has declined to insure the 60 and my new defender this year so I’m looking for any direction for the 60 series regards john

Flux are still insuring a couple of my modified trucks...

Mine too, but you do have to give them a talking to for a good half hour. My most expensive is the VW which is about £500, initially was £1080 from about £480 the year before. The V6 Collie is about £250, the modified 80 £380 and the 120 £400 with commuting included.
When I spent an afternoon as an exercise to get the 120 insured ( when AF quoted £350) no one came close.

£187 FC for the 80, SDP and no commuting with Hastings which is still +£30 on last year although I did talk them down from a £70 increase.

I've now got my 1995 80 insured with classic car specialist with agreed value of £25,000. Cost was 320 p.a. with continental travel and breakdown cover. Mileage limited to 5000 miles per annum. Nice to know that I will receive a decent payout if a write off occurs. I don't think the bigger insurance companies would be persuaded on that figure.

Flux quoted me about £2k to insure my 78. NFU were less than half that. I previously used A-plan for the FJ and they offered the identical policy to Flux for half the price too.

We recently switched to Keith Michaels after the previous lot started talking about immobilizers. So far they have been refreshingly old school and on the ball when it comes to imports and mods etc.

120 was £275ish in January, with Direct Line, hoping for no nasty shocks come the new year.
They've also been very reasonable at a similar price on the Mrs' flying Forester, again up in January.
Whether they would entertain the 60 you could try their own website first.

I had the same issue last year! I ended up going with a specialty insurer that focuses on classic vehicles. They were more understanding of the unique needs of older models like the 60 Series. Definitely worth checking out.

Are you sure its the 60 and not the Defender that makes them shy ?

I know its not electric but I've read a few stories about insurers refusing to cover mostly electric cars because they cost to much to repair .

Try this guy, Parminder Jakhu, Insurance Advisor, Heritage Insurance Brokers, 0121 246 6060, he was very helpful. Also try NFU, real decent crowd.
