I'm Cameron, just bought a 150 (current shape) with a little over 70k miles on it - and hopefully not too much rust! I went with the Icon trim level to avoid the air suspension and other extras I will hardly ever use and couldn't justify paying for. I'm based in Hampshire.
Mods wise, it just has an aftermarket android head unit - I just can't live with a terrible infotainment system.
It will soon have some additional security features added, and it is booked in for a Dinitrol treatment in March but that is as far as I have gotten with planning mods!
When I first started looking for a new car, I decided over anything else I wanted something reliable. After that, I wanted something that would hold its value. And thirdly, it had to be big and comfortable.
Since living in the USA for a few years (I have now moved back to the UK) I have also had a hankering for a 'truck' and just really enjoy large cars.
Hence the landcruiser fit the bill for me (since pickups here are terrible on the road) and it made sense as my previous car was a 2009 Rav4 which I enjoyed very much.
My Landcruiser will therefore spend 95% of its time on the road, although I would very much like to get out and do some greenlaning, somewhere relatively low risk, and ideally with a guide or expert. Something like the test tracks you always see the offroad reviews and tests conducted on I think would be ideal! I have my eyes on a 4x4 guide based in Wales that offers guided tours and can cater for different abilities.
4x4 Experience: Very little!
