Hardly anything to do on the latest project, unlike the rest of cars we've had haha. Still found something small to do, had a brand new syntethic rope lying around so decided to swap the wire rope out. Already had the proper fairlead required, just cleaned the drum while rope was off and fairlead. Put some grease in the whinch while I was at it

Congratulations on the acquisition Josh! They're a great truck mate, the progression of the lj to kzj shows quite a great leap forward for the light 70. I truly like them very much! Just a shame also in the same breath that the kzj7x was also the end of the line of the all coil sprung 70.. or 7x prado!

Enjoy it as they just razz on and they never cease to bring a great smile to the face!!:icon-biggrin::thumbup:

Hi Josh goo0 look with it and let's have lots of pics.

Couple of small jobs done (all there is to do). Alarm was working fine but not operating the central locking, tracing the wires from alarm box to locking buttons. Found wires broke in the door join, some new twin core plummed in and now working like new! Also the o/s spotlight wasn't working-bulb OK. Bit of help from the electrician who's a wizard found the relay inop, job done.

Not really anything on the 70 but preparation for it coming home. Decided to dig half the back garden out for somewhere to park it, can see our week off this week been a tough un......

Not many timing belts can be done in half an hour but this was an absolute breeze! New belt kit fitted, didn't look much wrong with the old one but the tensioner was leaking a bit of oil. Next job wasn't quite half an hour, the o/s swivel was leaking, ordered all genuine seals and new kingpin bearings just in case. Good job I ordered the bearing as the top one was very rusty! Also did the inner axle oil seal which I suspect was the initial cause of the problem, changed the diff oil even though it looked nearly as good as the new stuff. Still think it's a poor design the swivel is welded on, even land rover got it right with a bolt on!

Wired for sound at last! New dash speakers, 5 inch speakers in the rear and an 8 inch sub today. Now sounds wonderful and not like a pair of earphones

Nothing major to report, passed her mot with flying colours, replaced the rear transfer box seal as it had sprung a leak. Took her for a spin round the peaks

Gave the chassis and axles a once over with hammerite, got to keep yourself entertained on days off. As you can see the chassis ain't bad for 26 years old
