Excuse my ignorance, a couple of quick Qs. How much? Is that the 3.0TD? How many gears? Locking diffs? Is L40 Ormskirk?
£7499 It’s the 1kzte 5 speed manual Both none locking diffs from a 2.4 78 for lower gearing. Yes Scarisbrick near Ormskirk.
I like ..... but i think i might wake up dead if she came home from a night shift to find it parked outside my house Good luck with the sale
I too like very much. What’s going on with the bonnet up on blocks there Shaun? Is that ‘cause the intercooler has no scoop in the bonnet?
Yes mate it’s on alloy blocks to give the intercooler some air. Bought an sti imprezza bonnet scoop but couldn’t bring myself to cutting a big hole in the bonnet.
Its a beautiful 70 Shaun! Shame you've decided to sell. What make are the flares? Are they the ABS ones from Turkey?
It is and I’d like 2 Landcruisers but I have to sell so I have money to buy parts for the project. They are extra wide 3 door discovery arches, they fit quite well.
Just thought I’d add a few points about the prado. Oil and filter changed every year erelevant of mileage which hasn’t been many. Timing belt with all the idlers and rollers plus a front crank oil seal just been done. Engine in my opinion still sounds like a new one, very responsive and smooth. It’s pulls so well even without the tuneit box connected. It’s probably helped by the more modern intercooler and inlet system that was professionally fitted. Also sounds great as it sucks air in through the snorkel and has a nice growl (not over the top though) out of the 3 inch stainless exhaust that was made for it. As some of you may know these 3.0 motors will split the cylinder head if not cooled correctly, well this has never had that issue as I had the radiator re cored for a nice flow and use only genuine red Toyota coolant. The temp gauge never rises anything above half way and always sits just under half. Gear changes nice and smooth no synchro crunch’s or noises, diffs quiet no wining at any speed. Transfer and rear diff flange oil seals just been done. Front axle has had swivel bearings and seals also wheel bearings along with a manual front locking hub conversion. It had a full set of new 2 inch lift king springs a year ago as the iron man ones where sagging a little, also the rear iron man shockers are a similar age and done nothing. Body wise it’s not perfect and has had paint here and there as it has been used for green laning but always kept on top of it. The under side is excellent chassis and body is very good for a landcruiser if it’s age. The tyres are still good and showing signs of use on and off road, all 5 wheels are from extreme offset wheels and are bolted to 40mm high quality wheel spacers. It’s a cruiser that’s ready to take out and play and enjoy. All the hard work has been done and the money spent on it. £7499 or a good respectable offer.
