The right-hand drive Landcruiser 300 has the wiper stick and indicator stick on opposite sides for the EU. The wiper stick is to the left of the steering and the indicator stick is to the right.

But I have noticed that on the left-hand drive Landcruiser 300, they are on the opposite side. I was wondering if I could source a left-hand drive wiper and indicator stick and if they could be changed around. Has anyone already done it?

Only some LHD markets have them that way,but dontknow which.

thanks i didnt realise there would be different ones on the left hand drives so good to know

Probably asian markets that always had indicators on the right. Europe has always had them on the left.

Probably very likely the plug that they connect to will be the same. You probably can buy the stalk assembly and change it over, but could be a steering wheel off job.
Is it that much of an issue to drive with them that way?
My 80 series has them the 'wrong' way round to modern cars, does mean occasionally the wipers go on instead of the indicators, but I never find it that much of an issue.

Thanks , no it probably isnt that much of an issue, I have started to get used to it. Thanks for the info though as its a good fall back position if i do decide to ever change it

Finally solved this one! you can use the stalks from a left hand drive car, but a warning! there are many variants, some with or without automatic head lights, some with front fog switch and some without, some with or without automatic wipers, so you need to get the correct stalks or they dont work. You might need to do some research to find the right ones. You dont need to take off the steering wheel or mess with the air bag. You can unplug the existing wiring harness from each one, and switch them around to the opposite side, the cables are long enough and no wiring modification is required. Before you remove the old stalks, Label the plugs as to which one is for the wipers and which one is for the indicators, as they are both the same and can be fitted incorrectly. Then fit the new stalks. The cover which sits over the top and underneath the steering wheel can be reused, and the stalks exit as before but on the opposite hand. Makes the driving experience much better if they are the wrong hand from factory.

I think it took us about 30 mins to change them over.

Good find and glad you were able to resolve it so easily!
