I bought Toyota Landcruiser 75 series to work on as the car is currently not registered. The vehicle is equipped with a twin fuel tank system. I have been advised that both tanks are operating independently as Toyota 75/79 series have a fuel changeover system. So, can suck fuel from either the main or sub direct to the engine. The fuel from the sub can be drawn into the engine with a push of the button on the sub tank fuel gauge on a dash.
I have been unable to put my hand on any manual helping me to understand in detail how the twin tank system works.
Ideally, I’d like to see the electrical schematic showing the main and sub tank fuel pumps, the fuel transfer valve (solenoid, if any) and the sub gauge button activating the fuel transfer from the auxiliary tank. I searched the Internet, visited automotive outlets to buy a manual, talked with mechanics and automotive electricians, discussed the issue with my local Toyota dealership while no one can assist me on the issue.
Help would be appreciated
