Hello fellow members.
First of all let me start my story with when driving I could hear a rattle like noise.
It sounded like my break caliper or pads were loose so put in to my friends garage to fix.
He phoned me to tell me he can't find anything loose but my break pads are chattering but why? is my next question are my pads chattering.
Next problem is he tells me my shock is leaking on one side.
I found a few clips on YouTube so show my machanic what I wanted doing.
I went on to milner off Rd site and put my reg in and found my shocks and cost £92 in total.
Booked my car in to get the shocks replaced and with in an hour of leaving my car in the garage I got a tx saying the YouTube clip was useless as my shocks were nothing like the clip..
My mistake was forgetting I had an lc5 model with electronic adjustable shocks.
Milner sold me the incorrect shocks and my correct ones were £192 each on roughtrax site as with my reg got the correct shocks first time.
My machanic could not get my shock off because of its location and rounded off nuts due to past idiots.
I taken him a full day to remove and refit the shocks.
Has anybody done this before and what's the easiest way to remove for future shocks.
Pictures below show rounded off nut and the shock with module on top.
The bracket it sites on has the Allen key nut right against the wheel arch.
