Looking for a replacement 80

Ha, we're at 4K already!!

Guess we know where that's headed then

Chris

You'll need to hold your breath Chris, reserve not met, 4k already and still 5 days to go, I wish you luck but don't get your hopes up mate

Nah, deleted that one from memory banks already mate.

C

with the current price, not even CF are going to turn a profit on it...

£4,761.00
Reserve not met

It will still serve as a nice benchmark for your insurance claim, Chris - being a similar mileage, similar age etc.

Screenshots, eh? What a wonderful tool. Blimey, things are getting silly aren't they. Nearly at 5 and the reserve not met. Clearly has very high hopes for that one. There is a chance that it might not actually sell then. That would be interesting. I guess it will, but it's not going to be to me!

I've just phoned him, his reserve is £6000 , he did say though "You won't find a better one" but to use the words of Mandy Rice-Davies "He would say that wouldn't he?

Cheers Chas. I think he gone a bit Lady Ga Gaaaah. Reserve is 6k? That is a lot even for a nice private sale. With no warranty, no come back etc. Big amount of trust is that.

I dunno, maybe it's worth it and I'm wrong. A thing is only worth what someone will pay. So to me it's not worth it. When we get to the point that CF have all the spare 80s on their forecourt, we'll be in trouble. What we need is for them to go bust and have a liquidation sale. Yay!

Chris

I've looked up his feedback and in the past he has sold amongst a lot of other things, a 1981 Gold Ford Escort 1600 Ghia MK 3, 5 Door Hatchback (#200204647904), 4 Land Rover Discovery Alloy Wheels 16x7'' (Ex Demo) (#200243928083) a LEYLAND DAF 45 130 7 1/2 tonne Skip Lorry 1996 (#200297325484) and a van, it doesn't say what van because the sale was kept private but the buyer left this feedback
"this fela,is honest and the van i bought from him is very very good"
the area the Cruiser is in I think is a well known 'pikey' area, make up your own mind about that

Like it or not guys 80s are going up in value at the moment. They are still loads cheaper here than most other countries. As has been said they are worth what people will pay and at the moment people are paying well.

Would not suprise me if that one goes for £6.5k.

A decent 80 in South Africa will fetch in excess of £12k...

Yep - and that will be a GX 4500 carburettor fuel guzzler or a normally-aspirated diesel - no turbo!! No competition for the UK spec - no locking diffs, etc.

I do like this photo on his add  Looks like a photo from a club get together :D

I might detour there tomorrow as doing a Southampton - Skegness trip and back. I'll be in the work truck so in disguise ;)

Hey Paul let me know if there is any GENUINELY worth having. Then sort me a fantastic deal!

Chris

I was shocked and saddened to hear and see pics of the fire damage to you beloved cruiser after having met you once and going over the car, all the work done as labour of love, gutting stuff to a great guy. Really hope insurance pays well enough to get another good one for u to resume the enjoyment of doing it up and getting about in it.

Hi Chris,

Just seen this thread. Very sorry for what has happened. It was a great truck and we know how much you put into it.

Thanks Guys. Well you know. Onwards and upwards. Never got to enjoy it. Just finished other than a few bits.

Chris
