Hi everyone,

My bonnet has seperated from the bracing underneath and rattles like crazy on the highway. I've got a panel bonding sealant and plan on sticking the two back together. Just want to know if anyones done this before and if theres any tips you could give so that it gives a good stick. There is quite a gap and i dont really want to put pressure on the top of the bonnet because i dont want it to lose shape.

Its quite a big gap and its throughout the entire bonnet.

For any job like that, clean clean clean, no dust oil or grease anywhere on the surfaces to be bonded. Otherwise it won't take right. If I'm reading the post correctly, the top skin of the bonnet is coming away from the structure underneath, as in the moulded air intake for the intercooler, I've never seen that one before.

Okay so just for the record the jobs done. I didn't end up using any pressure to hold the bracing / support to the bonnet skin. I just applied enough to make a connection between the two and it worked perfectly. No more rattle or wobbling and closes with a solid thunk.
