Graham, if you are going to edit my post can you get the grammer correct, it should read the PORN HAS arrived :lol: :lol: OK teachers hat off;
Been watching the accessorise DVD, all good stuff, already given me some ideas, , the first bloke up, with a bit of concentrating, I could understand, but the next two I thought WTF, :confusion-confused:, fiddling with my hearing aids made no difference, then I realised they were talking in some strange Saffa lingo , got caught watching it by the missus, but she didn't seem to mind, maybe I'll put it on the bedroom TV tonight, . . . well you never know ;)

The dvd's arrived all safe and sound today, complete with a club sticker and a Landcruisers Overland diary, result!

Thanks very much to Simon and Crispin for all their efforts.

Cheers.

Got mine as well! Thanks for the extras Chaps.

Thanks again Crispin & Simon

Well, I just got to the end of my first DVD session, the accessories one, 2.5 hrs of sheer pleasure. There were lots of brand names mentioned, as you would expect, but NO advertising, all very watchable even if I couldn't understand what they were talking about in that strange lingo. a few more jobs have been added to the 'Jobs to be done' list. I don't think I can take more excitement tonight, I'll save the other two DVDs for tomorrow, and I didn't get a club sticker with mine

That made me burst out laughing and woke the baby!

You need one of those new auto translate hearing aids...

I think Simon did all the hard work, I just received them. He did the leg work...

Not actually watched then yet except for one quick preview. I can see some will struggle with the accents. :)

Sorry about waking the baby Crispin, did you get him/her off to sleep again OK?
One of those Babel fish thingys from Hitchhikers Guide?
Many thanks to all involved
I'm looking forward to the other two tomorrow.
I managed to understand when they spoke in English, but some were talking Afrikaans I think :confusion-confused:

Just finishing Bush Mechanics and the 2007 cruiser diaries. There is quite a bit of Afrikaans which thankfully I still understand. I found it very informative and some goods facts came out of it.

Well I watched chunks of the pimp video and the bush mechanics and there is some good stuff in there. It is a shame Morne didn't think to put subtitles on the Afrikaans parts [and maybe vice versa for the local market]. Wouldn't have taken too much to do and would make the videos even more appealing. Lots of hours of decent quality video though. Maybe we're all going to have to rely on out SA comrades to translate key bits we may want to understand. I think the bush mechanic video is Mr Cruiser who is a member here too so perhaps we can ask the odd question from time to time. Despite the Afrikaans in parts i still give the ones i got a

Chas, I imagined one of them new fangled hearing aids like you have on the tour buses where you can switch between translations. Anyway, it's been a week of no sleep so my imagination is a bit odd...
Baby only got to sleep at about 4. Again.

Bummer about the lack of subtitles. Hopefully there is not too much Afrikaans? If there are any sections you really wanted to know, you could posts the DVD name and time and someone here could translate

That's a good idea, when I watch them again, and I will, I'll make a note of the times of anything I need to know, thanks Crispin.

Simon/Crispin, received my collection yesterday.
Would have been nice to have some subs for the Afrikaans, however overall well worth it.
Thank you both for the effort!

Just returned from a rather unpleasant business trip to the US - and the little package waiting for me was an ideal way to break the frustated-with-travel-mood on my return...

Simon / Crispin - Thanks again for all your efforts...

The accessorise one was very good, the tyre repair one a bit disappointing, too much time was given to watching a tyre removal from the rim and how to put a plug in a tyre, but I might have missed something by not being able to understand the lingo  the bush mechanics one still to be watched, fingers crossed.

I agree on the tyre one but it did show the basics which would help out someone like me (HA HA) who has never done it before.

Got halfway through the accessories one before having to clean up baby puke (again). It seemed good although the wife said is was just d*ck swinging contest. So?

I did find the section on GPSs and radios interesting. It was all in Afrikaans but those fancy GPSs y'all crave, they can be hooked up to a VHF (not sure if it is purely radio dependant) and then all the GPSs talk to each other. If you in convoy over great distances or lots of blind spots (dunes, mountains forests etc) then that could be very cool. Shows up other parties on your screen as dots.
