Hiya

Thought I'd post some pics of my first LC I bought a couple of weeks ago. Bought off ebay, probably more with heart than head but i'm happy with my purchase and so are mrs, kids and doggos.

Its a 99MY Auto with 156k on the clock, 2 owners I bought for £5500. The bodywork is OK, interior is great, all electrics work, AC needs re-gassing but that's it. I'm no mechanic but I knew it would need some work underneath from a rust point of view, looks like the lady that owned it in Glasgow for 13years had been reversing into the sea every weekend lol. The major bits are being addressed just now so i'll get it back in a week or two but intend to keep it for many years to come.

I'll need a couple of tyres within the next month or two, but otherwise i'm quite happy with it although there are things I want to get done.

Hi BY, looks good on top, hope the underside isn’t too bad. I’ve seen a 120 that looks like the underside of a pier! Hope yours doesn’t.

Post up some pics when you get the chance.

Best wishes
Rich

Meant to add - I took the car to see Trevor at Freedom4x4 earlier this week down in Brackley, to get his expert opinion, very much worthwhile, good chap to know. I've not used him this time as I found a welder right next to my office in Daventry but he certainly knows his 100s.

the back of it looks like its been parked in the sea over winter, but the active air still works so mainly chassis related, gets better as it goes forwards but some major stuff needing doing, after it will have to wait until next year. Will certainly get more pics at the end of the month when I get it back.

Welcome Mate. Im in the market for a 100 at the moment, Need to replace my 120, Starcruiser and the lads on here are a world of knowledge, on the 100... so you will get all the help you need. I did. All the best with it...

Some pics are in my albums area : https://www.landcruiserclub.net/community/media/users/big-yin.18026/

I've put a few taken of the rusty bits before they were fixed. Still to do is behind the rear bumper, not much metal there plus probably some bits for the MOT in April so i'll probably wait and get the next part of welding done then.

Otherwise, the fuel filter will get done this week and may as well do the oil at the same time with the hope that a genuine fuel filter change will stop it having the odd "cough/stall" just after starting. Next month or January will be tyres. I'm down to BF02, Yokohama G056 or the Michelin Latitude Cross to get a set of all four balanced with tracking done.
