Hi All.. I am and have been for over 20 years, the proud owner of a 1992 Toyota Land cruiser 75 series Prado LX 2.4 Turbo Diesel LJ78 Auto. She exists! Trying to get anyone to accept she exists is almost impossible, although a few pop up on the internet from time to time.

I don't have a manual, have to fly by the seat of our pants for maintenance and recently had to insure her as a specialist vehicle ....my usual insurers wouldn't cover her any more and the 75 Series isn't listed on insurance sites. Only one company would insure my old girl and on limited mileage!.. And trying to find parts... She may as well be Cinderella's pumpkin coach!
Does anyone else have these challenges... or is it just me?
All the best..... Crystal x

Welcome to the forum !
I had(still have) the exact same lc for nearly as many years (A 120 us my d/d now) Not sure where you get 75 series for this vehicle as its a 70 series ?
These were an import, so maybe why some companies don't recognise it.
I never had a problem insuring it, and while parts can be problem due to age, Toyota can still supply some (at a price) or there is Milner or Roughtrax.
Early Hil-lux Surf's also used some of the same components as the 78, so they can be a good sourcd of used parts..

Welcome to the club Crystal.

To save you flying by the seat of your pants with parts, you can use

to help you find part numbers, and

to order genuine parts. They come from Japan or UAE, so take a while to get to the UK, and you'll need to pay import duty when they arrive in the UK. It makes life a lot easier..... As Tractionman said, you can also use Roughtrax or Milner

We love photos on here, so post some up when you get a minute.
