Though you'd like to meet my other toy, currently having and engine upgrade from an old 2l Pinto to an 1800 Zetec Turbo.

Should be fun...

Nice one. Those things can corner for England. If I wasn't into 2 wheels in such a big way Id probably have something similar myself. This one caught my eye the other day.....201807198589033

Haha another LC owner with a zetec turbo :), I've got a rather nice one in my track car and my mate up the road has both a 2L and 2.1L versions.

Is yours a blacktop or silvertop?

Don’t stick your hand under the bonnet in the dark with the engine running and that unguarded cam belt. My pal with the Escort was on a rally and one of the other competitors did just that. Nasty. I think his engine is pinto based but has Millington components and head and an off the shelf ECU. Think he gets something like 330bhp naturally aspirated at the wheels.

It's a silver top

I think you'll have to post some pics..

I rattled my fingers with the metal fan on an old Escort many moons ago.. won't be doing anything like that again.
330 from a pinto must have cost a packet..

Hmm probably, but bolted to a sequential gearbox that changes gear in 40ms and some clever engineering to help him corner, he’s now winning his class.

Yep winning races costs money.. mine is just for fun although I can wait to get to get it on a track

Heres mine, its the 2l out of a low mileage Focus RS, stainless manifold, itg filter, emerald ecu, currently dialed back a bit as the exhaust needs changing and it'll spin the wheels in 4th. Very nice on track but I do suffer from a lack of traction. At some point I'll change the suspension and fit a lsd for more traction then up the boost a bit.

Have you thought about moving some of the weight like the battery for instance, to the rear Mark? Don’t suppose you’d want to put a couple of paving slabs in the boot.

Its not high on my list of priorities, the car is a bit light at the rear end though! sadly the cars been garaged for 18months due to cash flow shortages. Hope to get it back on track in the summer though if things get better

A nice write up on my Robin Hood in the April edition of Complete Kit Car magazine.
