Hi all!

My name is PJ and I'm in a dark blue '06 120VX 3.0 D4D that has some 265k kms on it.
Shows some wear and tear from a harder life but is rust free and (usually) running strong. So is the Land Cruiser:wink:

I say 'usually', as unfortunately an electrical gremlin was included in the deal... so I am enjoying an OEM audio/nav system with touch screen that frequently reboots when I am using a lot of current: high beam, A/C and audiotape-bluetooth adapter. It gets the Toyota logo on screen and the car lights (high beams) flicker, sometimes even drop the dashlight & meters.

(Any and all suggestions MUCH welcomed)

So: big plan to sort this out, and upgrade to a modern head unit.

My 4x4 experience has been a while ago and clocked on an old very small LJ80 Suzuki... so the LC is a few sizes bigger :sunglasses:
Looking forward to adding more 4x4 to life's experiences!!

Cheers!

Time for an oil change and go around the world once more :)

Sounds like the electrics might have a problem. I wonder if the problem is near the battery / earth straps? Any short jolt in that might be enough to cause the radio to reboot.
Checked the connectors from the battery and onto the chassis?

Good suggestion on the earth straps: I checked the electrics of the battery & earth points onto the chassis but didn't actually wiggle them... that may be something.
Standing next to the car Thursday again so will check & report back.

Thanks C!
