New (to me) Roof Tent - something a little different.

I've found the hood/flysheet bonnet/porch whatever you want to call it an issue with my tent . It catches wind like a parachute which hasn't been a problem while sleeping in my fold up tent but came to light when i put the tent up to dry in gale force winds . Even then it wasn't a problem because mine fastens at the bottom with velcro so i let the fly sheet flap loose (so it didn't fold the empty tent) . Been looking at it ever since thinking why is there no tie back or toggles , anything of the sort making the porch an option rather than a set piece ? . It will be eventually i just haven't yet worked out how .
