Newbie to forum and LC ownership question ...

91 Prado SX5, LJ78, Automatic tranny - has no differential lock control knob (at least not one that is in the usual place). The picture knob isn't present anywhere on my dashboard area.

I could have used some positive rear traction recently.

Any guidance from you gurus? I will keep searching the forum.

Thank you!

If its anything like an 80 you should be able to see the actuator on the rear axle if you have one fitted.

To see if you have an LSD, the normal check is to have both wheels off the floor, turn one wheel by hand, if the other wheel turns in the opposite direction very likely you have an open diff. If it turns in the same direction as the one your turning you have an LSD
