took this pic today, looks ok to me after 177K, 03 so pre injector washer problem, what do others think.

Looks good to me.

Presume regular oil changes throughout its life? Twice a year for me so less than 5k intervals.

Just out of interest i've returned to using 10w40 proper Diesel engine oil (Exol lubricants, very well priced in 20 litre drums), mainly for the higher detergent properties of DEO, since using it the engine seems quieter overall and the oil pressure light quicker to go out following a cold start where the car has been standing for a day or three.
 
That does look ok to me.

After the issues I had with mine I would still recommend that you drop the small sump and check it properly. 30min job at most.

That is the same stuff i switched to, found it a was a little smoother from cold, Mannol, 20lt drums, cheaper than Mr. T!
