Replacement radio for how much?

They have been coming down slowly as more and more cars have integrated radios rather than a single or double din setup

These are the new generation of "Mechless" headunits - as in they do noy have a mechanical media drive such as CD or cassette. We have a number of them for sale at the big box retailers for $19 usd (or less). Basically once you take away the moving parts, the rest of it is pretty easy to mass produce at low cost. You end up with basically a dash mounted control surface for your bluetooth or usb device that has a small power amplifier built in to run your door speakers. My experience has been that in most cases, running a four channel external amp via the RCA outputs sounds better than the internal 5w per channel amp. But in cases where you just need to get it done as cheap as possible- this is great. Especially for open top vehicles where you are worried about theft- this is a great solution because who is going to risk their neck to steal a unit worth less than their time to remove it ;)

When will DAB-radios come down to the same price level?
With DAB you need one more chip inside, and that gives a price 10 times higher...
Norway is closing the FM network, which means that everyone has to fork out 100 £ plus to continue listening.
