roof rails

just wondered if anyone has removed their roof rails and what i can expect to find when i take them off? ive just bought a roof rack and it seems to be sitting a little high so the plan is to alter the legs and drop it down but will i just be left with 4 bolt holes to fill in?

there are probably some posts about this on ih8mud.com but from what I can remember yes you just have bolt holes with maybe a little rust round them.

im looking on there now but unless im wrong mosst of the posts are about 100s.

they probably refer to it as the OEM roof rack not rails but if you limit your search to the 80 series forum it shouldn't pull up 100 series stuff.
