Today I finished dismantling this old 100 series. It came cheap with the last MOT fails reading like War and Peace. Corrosion wasn't in it, it was very poor. However the saving grace was that it came with full service history on 180 K so the engine was a peach.
So then decided to replace the 24V in the green laner 80 with the FTE and have the 8HP box put behind it. With a bigger intercooler, possibly a bigger turbo and a bit of mapping an easy 250bhp should be attained without any smoke issues. This will help no end when towing the Metalian trailer on hilly roads with more power and more gears.
The front end was removed, gearbox taken off and then taken to the garage doing the conversion for the engine and associated necessary wiring, ECU's etc all kept together.
Although the shell and chassis were very poor the bonnet, top and bottom tailgates and doors were all mint so I've kept those for spares as my other 100 is silver too.
Seats are pretty good too ( I think they had always had seat covers) but are surplus to requirements so if anyone is interested.....
