Well I did suggest famous last words...

So, the Easter vigil to stay at my Ma-in-law's place for a few days. "Let's go to Gura Humorului" says Aura, "to see Voronets Monestary and call in on Ioana" (visiting our God-daughter, staying at her parents place).

OK, we set off at 09:30 this morning and it was a bit drizzly, which turned to sleet, and the further north we went the sleet became snow.

We've snugged in at a motel/pension for the night, and it's still snowing, it's up to about 40cm now...

Wow Clive that's amazing. We've been having g sunny days but there is a chill in the air here. Nothing like that though. Mind you my Aunt said it was snowing when her daughter was born in April 1971.

Some great photos there. I particularly like the horizontal tree (must've been close to Chernobyl when you took that one )

I remember that monastery. It is stunning. No snow when I was there though.

The ride back was interesting and good fun, we took a long county road to get the best views of the mountains, and that was under "rehabilitation" so nobody bothered to snowplough it...
