Hi Indigo i am having the same problem. tried two tubs of lucas power steering leak stop at £12 a tub and that hasn't worked so I'm going to strip it out next week. However if you want to go first then by all means I will be happy to learn from your experience
Hi, I am going to strip it off the car and know you can get the repair kits for them but it's a specialised job so I am looking around for a reputable service agent. I have checked a few online but wanted to see if anyone can recommend one who is trusted to do a good job. To get an OEM one is £700 plus and with toyota they will bite your arm off
Just spoken to a chap called bob who can rebuild the unit to the same spec as toyota for £105 plus VAT in 48 Service. Does not sound too bad. I know just to buy the repair kit from toyota costs more than that.
Will talk to him again next week once I have the unit off over the weekend.
Sounds like a reputable company with long trading experience.
Will look around for a closer one to London to save on postage.
Just purchased a steering box from a guy named Gary. Paid £120 for plus delivery of £18 pounds.
I found that it would cost more to strip and send off and get it repaired. It is tested so no leaks. I have not fitted the item as yet as it is a far bit of work however I did take pictures of mine to forward via email as there are two type available.
