Terrain Tamer Spring Kit

It will be interesting to compare the ride empty and loaded with a few hundred kg’s
It's got to be better than with those old leaf springs.. It's sitting nice and straight and height wise I'm really happy. Now I've got to try and find the right wheels. I'm thinking of 16 x 10J with a -45 offset but I'm reluctant to buy something without offering it up and checking how far they stick out/in.

Looks and drives so much better.. Nice to have that nasty old decal off the sides too. New shiny one going on after the respray.

I've seen people make a cross sectional profile out of wood or card to check wheel offsets.
Have a play on www.willtheyfit.com you can put in your current tire and wheel values and your desired ones and it will give you all the new dimensions. Easy to check then if it will fit on your current set up

Hi Felix
My existing wheels are 15" x 10j offset not known but they stick out by approx 6 inches and back space approx 4 inches so my guess is that works out at about an offset of approx -50. The wheels I'm looking at and bear in mind there's not much choice in Harare are 16 x 10 with an offset of -45 so they should fit. But I've fitted Hilux callipers on the front and the inside of the existing wheels are very close to the calliper. So I think the only safe way is to try before I buy..

Yes, I had to file off the corners of my hilux calipers about 1mm each side as the just touched the 15” rims of my old wheels. No drama but not ideal.

Interestingly I got the L/H and R/H callipers from different suppliers (it's a Harare thing) and one fitted without any filing the other needed a tiny bit of adjustment.
