This is a lovely looking truck Pete, and the mods are really impressive.

What a credit to you, it is .

I've always been impressed with the turning circle of my 80, it's something that doesn't get much of a mention, usually.

For a full time 4WD solid front axle, it doesn't lose any agility IMO.

I was honestly surprised at the turning circle after driving a surf for a couple of years, that was bad!

Don't know how I missed this earlier. Looking great Pete. Like the wooden drawers, very nice. Gullwings look good too.:clap:

Replaced Transfer box due to seazed Difflock Actuator, not sure the box suffered catastophic damage but the noise it made when the new actuator was fitted gave me the heebie jeebies so felt it was prudent, new input seal, new gearbox output seal 17/10/16
Engine oil & Filter 17/10/16
Greased props 17/10/16

With the difflock now working the FR CV complained bigtime, also the rear difflock light not showing solid - next on the list.

Love this.. have I see this on Northants 4x4?

You have indeed matey, 4 trucks off to the Pyrenees in... less than 4 weeks now :o

Had the CV done before Trev shut up shop, think it was Feb/March, the difflock light is down to a corroded connector on the indicator switch (which I've still not done, need to find a source for those plugs?) Also fitted a bigger Alternator since the original was fubar (must resist wading lol)

Dicovered the roofrack legs are loose, seems the alluminium plates have reacted to the stainless bolts on the Patriot, most of the threads have stripped out, just contacted Patriot for replacements.

MOT this week then we should be all good to go :banana-wrench:

House build has gone £25k over budget, debating selling the 80 since it'd just be sat here waiting for a time we can afford another overland trip.

It owes me £22k, is £15k with all the extras a fair price?

just thinking about it makes me feel physically sick mate :puke-front:

I don't need to sell it tomorrow kinda thing, maybe I'm over-thinking stuff cos the Ins/MOT is due... but if I SORN it'll be sat here for ages since a massive brand new bare house will take some budget to decorate/carpet/tile/furnish/etc. which we ain't got, let alone have the budget to go overlanding.

All our plans are up the wall, if it'd been done on budget we had loads of overland plans, HTF do builders go over budget by %25 and not give any indication until it's too bloody late to scale back plans :angry-screaming:

I reckon £15k is fair, that'd give me a 7k loss on it too, so if don't make that I'm keeping it
