The bit that always seems to get missed out, glossed over, brushed under the carpet, is the efficiency of the electricity system used to charge the vehicle, cost/difficulty of recycling some of the components (specifically the batteries). Not to mention the shock or fire potential in the event of an accident that damages the main battery or cables.
