Thinking About Buying This

A 6 seater 70 series would be cool. Kind of hard to judge what the going price is based on the used market.

Hi John,

Yes the avatar is our truck which is registered in Spain and is modified but is pre-1985 - the year that VIN numbers were unified.

IMO it's going to take a bit of searching to find the right LC for you but there are ways.... e.g. I know two Spanish guys who have very modified FJs (not 40s) that are registered here in Spain and they are officially imported so there are ways round the problems.

Off to Aguilas now.

Regards,

Rodger

Hi John,

The boys in Aguilas had a 200 but it has a buyer. Other than that they had a couple of 80 series trucks, one is fully equipped - lift, wheels and tyres, winch, etc but it is 23 years old but no rust - 28000 euros.

I have just had a look at www.milanuncios.com -Motors- Toyota-Land Cruiser 200 in Andalucia and there are half a dozen V8 diesel 200s in Cordaba, Jaen, Almeria, or Seville... so worth a look as most are from dealers and have guarantees. There is an advert for a dealers in Jaen that appears to specialise in late LCs, so they may be worth a look at their website - link is on milanuncios.com.

Also worth looking at the Toyo dealers in Almeria, Motril, Granada, etc to see what they have.

Finding a 6 seater 70 series is going to be a long search unless you are extremely lucky but the choices will not be many.....

Regards,

Rodger

I see a number of LC 4.5 D4D's but they're carrying more mileage on them than desired. Because this is a vehicle that acts as our main form of transport we're probably going to revisit the Prado or perhaps something like a Hilux. It would be cool to have something with more curb appeal but seeing as we already have a couple of old Golf's in addition to the Audi it's just not feasible to add a weekend warrior to the herd.
While the Prado has it's detractors here (which I fully understand) based on reviews I have read (many!) it is not such a bad choice. And, of course, there's always the Hilux.
Anyway, that's where my mindset currently resides.

Nothing wrong with a Prado  :icon-wink:

Actually a 120 or 150 series would make a fine daily driver and probably be more practical than a 200 series on some of the narrower and windier country roads out there.

So, it's been awhile and after some consideration we are entertaining Rodger's idea of keeping the Q and adding a used LC. Got my eye on a 150 with all the mods but here's the question; is purchasing a 150 with 200 km's a wise choice?
