Part numbers refer:-

Denso 22800-05992
Toyota 28100-17060

It's a 12 volt starter motor to convert my 24 volt 80 series to a 12 volt start.

I don't know what it fitted/fits.

Thanks
Frank

Hi Frank, you may or may nor be aware I did this conversion a few years back? I used the starter from a HDJ 100, it is 12volts and 3.5kw, it takes a little modding but nothing serious, the point is I ended up with it for nothing from eBay as it was a bit sore when it arrived, also there are loads around....CHEAP!

regards

Dave

hi Frank

did you manage to find these? I am looking for the same. Bought a 12v starter from Wood Auto but that has started giving me issues. Looking for a good used genuine one that I can rebuild with new contacts and brushes etc

also seen some Yanmar ones that match close part numbers on eBay. Not sure how good/how much better than the wood auto ones those are. See below.

Also looked at Bosch but cannot find a UK supplier. Part numbers and equivalent Toyota part numbers in image below.

I have a 12v starter knocking around somewhere. Will check part number.

Absolutely thanks for this thread resurfacing.. It reminded me to search ebay for one of these..

I bagged it for £87 and means that I'm converting my bj74 job to 12v instead of over £220 for the coaster 24v 24v alternator!

Hope the new starter works lol!
