Hello all from West Texas. We just bought a 1992 Land Cruiser from a classic car dealer in Colorado and had it shipped. We had the vehicle checked out by a mechanic and it's in good working order. It does, however, have an alarm that wasn't mentioned and when you open the driver's door to get in, the horn honks a couple of times before you get the chance to disengage the alarm. Is this normal and is there a way to make it stop? We don't need the horn to honk at 5 a.m. to wake up the world. Any positive advice would be much appreciated!

Not normal horn should be just above your radiator with only 2 wires attached and sounds like someone added a wire ?

Maybe follow the wires and check the usual space for unusually looking / weirdly not stock mounted controller of the alarm?

I mean look under the dash (unscrew a few bolts) for a box or harness that is not matching and can connect to the horn or is connected under the steering wheel - car siren honks when it just connected to the battery - try to find the box that does that "connecting" of horn cables to voltage.

When you find something like that send us a picture if you think it is suspected to be the alarm. Also google the symbol of that box to check.

All the best!
