I am looking to buy a 40 Series to restore and am still in the research process - I would like a 1971 since it's the year I was born, but I wanted to check with the forum folks if there are any major differences or considerations I should take when choosing one. I live in Los Angeles and just want a really basic one, no rust and structurally sound to begin a long-term restoration project - any suggestions or noted big differences in the 40 series by year would be appreciated - thank you

Where are you located.. Do you have a lot of choice for different 40 Series.

I live in Los Angeles - so between LA and San Diego I should have a number of choices- I've seen a lot of early to mid 70s and a few 80's but was wondering if it's worth getting a later model with power steering and AC or an older model and just adding them - it would likely be a 3-4 day a week car for daily commutes in the city, so want to be comfortable

Id get one of the later ones with power steering and aircon.

Have you been to Specter Off Road?

Might be worth popping in and having a chat with them. :icon-wink:
