Hi guys,

Currently looking at fitting a winch to my LJ79 and I want to use the captive nuts on the chassis legs. I tried to identify what size these are and they don't seem to be metric (M10 goes straight in and M12 is way too big), in fact I think they are imperial 7/16". Could that be ?

Thanks in advance for your help :icon-biggrin:

Have you tried fine thread , I don't know about the 70s but those bolts on my 90 are m12 X 1.25

There is no way they will be imperial unless someone has changed the captive nuts which seems very unlikely.

As Shayne says they are M12 metric fine thread. I've just been out and checked mine. :icon-wink:

When picking up a winch to fit between the chassis rails, you need one with the brake inside the drum otherwise it'll be too wide
