Can it fail ?

This is perfectly smooth inside and out and so i can only guess its a previous repair that suddenly failed for no obvious reason ?

Does anyone think they can fix it when there is no chip to fill ?

Normally your insurance company will fix chips for free. Or worse case scenario allow one free windscreen replacement a year which you can utilize?

I don't think it's possible to mend glass. I've had several of these procedures done and they've all failed in about a year. I think the insurers hope you've sold the car by then

We send the trucks to MOT with chip repairs in. Even though they may be in the swept area etc they still seem to pass.

Has it had a repair before or is it new chip?

No issues with repairs in the swept area, done loads of chip repairs that haven't failed.
