I have seen a few of these around recently, the first time i saw one, i thought it was a Toyota Hi-Lux pickup. !!

There are Great Wall pick ups every where here in China.

They are looking very good and fit for purpose.

looks like a Toyota Rav4 ...
(9k eh? be worth the gamble)
too bad not sold in Canuckistan.

Spotted quite a few Great Wall cars over here the last few weeks.

Even seen a few commercial pickup trucks. :icon-smile:

They look OK but I'd rather have a Toyota. :icon-wink:

The Great Wall really arn't in the same PRICE league as the Toyota, that's for sure.
However, I feel with the low price, GW is aiming at the people who don't have Hi-Lux money.

Is it this one, but right hand drive?

The single cab petrol 2,2L starts at just £6,980 in China.

Yes think that the one Gra. :icon-smile:

Yep that's the one Ben. 240 IIRC is their naming in Aus. (use 3000 as the Postcode; it's Melbourne's)

One of the guys I know has a GW Ute as his work truck; it's not as bad as he expected it to be (think a late (VW owned) Skoda Favorit rather than Skoda Estelle) OK not as good as the Japanese/Thai pick ups, but not horrendous either. From what the guys who are mechanics say it has a lot that looks like it came off of a Holden Rodeo (Isuzu pickup) underneath such as the suspension etc IIRC. Perhaps a bit of reverse engineering?

Graham, that looks very similar to the Cherry stuff that you get in Aus (except VIC)

Co-incidence, was looking at the GW Steed double-cab on the internet today, theres a dealer in Exmouth, might go along for a look. Its about £15000 on the road, there isnt anything else in that price range unless I get a 2nd hand ranger maybe?

The previous model was a big seller - 600,000, but not sold in europe, so an unknown.

The chinese motor industry seems to thrive on 'look familiar' design work, looks like a Hummer in the background, unusual truck to copy.

I have been thinking more about one of these

They seem quite durable, they are very popular here in China.
