Chinese village of Zhouzhouang, is aptly named the "Water village".
Essentially there are no roads, no bicycles, no cars, just boats, and just "people power boats"
I didn't see a single boat with an engine on, which is kind of refreshing, and adds to the tranquility of the place.
This village is about 1000 years old.
Again, very beautiful, and really just "one of a kind"

Make your mind up, here are the pictures.

It used to be an inland island, until a recent bridge was constructed.

Lovely place, looks so peaceful, thanks Graham.

Looks a great place to visit! You're doing well with your explorations of China, Graham

I was there two years ago, very nice place to see indeed even when it was absolutely hammering it down with rain!! Really nice at night with all the lanterns lining the streets. We did a tour from Beijing to shanghai over 2 weeks, wasn't nearly enough time!!
