    250 series on the road?

Coincidence, saw my first 300 in the flesh yesterday on the M1, shiny black and lots of chrome, honestly i prefer the 200/100/80 (in no particular order) in the range of biguns.

    Rustproofing, updating methods and products.

Indeed, pretty it isn't, but a hell of a lot more satisfying/relieving viewing than rust from end to end and across.

    Rustproofing, updating methods and products.

Update. Lack of spring rains finally gave way late May to a couple of days of rain, so once well soaked underneath gave it a good going over with the L shaped lance. Couple of weeks ago applied this year's rustproofing. edit..nearly forgot, sprayed the exhaust with Zinc paint first. My ACF50...

    Cheap 100 series diesel auto

Couldn't you just curse the previous owners of so many of these motors, even if they didn't want to do anything themselves finding a back street garage to spray old engine oil/anything oily underneath every couple of years these vehicles wouldn't be anywhere near so rotten.

    Alternator issue

The alternator on my 120 suddenly pegged out about 3 years ago, took it to the local sparky hopefully for a rebuild, he immediately noticed a crack in the casing which wasn't the issue but wasn't going to mend itself, he had a Lucas recon unti there within the hour for IIRC £126, its still going...

120 LC5 Air Con radio unit controls

The LC5 can have troubles with the height sensors for the rear air suspension, i've kept everything underneath bathed in ACF50 which, so far, has kept things working fine. Obviously there's an air pump which can fail as can the airbags themselves, not had to change an airbag myself yet but have...

120 LC5 Air Con radio unit controls

My LC5 is 20 years old, whilst its always in the back of your mind that the touch screen or audio could poo its pants, so far none of the LC5 specific stuff has broken or failed to perform as expected. To be fair i barely touch the screen itself, once you've set the audio to your preferences (i...

Looking to buy a 'new' LC....maybe!

Nice to see you dropped in from the Subbie forum JT, you came to the right place for help and chat here, i still like that white one you linked to at the other place by the way. ACF50 isn't a one off treatment its something that needs a reapplication every year, i personally like it because it...

Looking to buy a 'new' LC....maybe!

My own experience is with older stuff, from my first 70 to the current 120. Had a new Hilux in 2007 but despite being top spec was still relatively simple, in rerospect we should have kept it. Over the fullness of time the middling ranges seem to be easiest and cheapest to maintain and there's...

Trying to decide on new 250 series or 150 series

If you can get the new model for circa 10 or 15k euros more, to me thats no contest, new model it would be...which also gives you the chance to fully rustproof it with a spotlessly clean chassis and underbody making the job more effective for longer and far easier than something thats already...

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Considered that, but we still have 3 dogs (one of which isn't going to last much longer) and the 120 is a keeper so decided to keep the rear aircon going. My wallet had a blue fit.

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Waxoyl was just about all we had to choose from at one time, unless you had spraying equipment the faff with blockages and heating the stuff up (on the mrs' stove when she wasn't looking) only to find it would block the pipe and or nozzle anyway, never again. I found the best way to apply waxoyl...

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Yes it probably was he, this was the first time i've used it as such, covered well and quickly. If you did that and nothing else, £30odd quid a year to keep the tin worm at bay seems a bargain.

Who is doing what maintenance today?

I'm filthy hot and bothered. Just crawled out from underneath having completed this year's rustproofing. Exhaust sprayed with galvanising paint. All the nooks and crannies sprayed with ACF50. Whole underside and chassis cavities with chain lube* Hand coated the chassis in marine grease, rear...

    Continuing site problems....

Another forum i use is running really slowly intermittently, so far no problems here for me. Could it be a general running down to er 'encourage' the spending out of large sums to get windows 11. Might seem like a conspiracy theory but when all the other conspiracy theories have come true......
