wow, 20 years, impressive. I have a 92 J73 (mwb) which i got about 3y ago, this is from Spain by way of Florida. its a work in progress and I can’t wait to get it running properly. Good luck, i want to hear what you figured out.

Well, bad news for the J70 project, the head is a paper weight. Guys at the machine shop confirmed the classic disfunction of said 2LT, its cracked.
Roughtrax or maybe OEM head from a different year, or even a motor swap (diesel only) I am going to check this next but if anyone has a...
I am hoping for the best here and if this head is done then its on to the next path of least resistance to get this J70 on the road.

I realize in the US, the 70 is scarce and the resources are too. Diesel is not common either and on top of that the (VW) TDI scandal has made it even more unpopular. I took me a year to find a mechanic in NY...

There is also a Vermont reg option, its on line and they send you the tags via the mail… and you can use your own address (obviously, Out of state) I did this for my J70 which I purchased in Florida and it was from Spain.

Nice set up, my brake booster is on the left… i am going to have to figure out how to make it fit. Tomorrow the original head off the LJ73 is going to the machine shop to be cleaned and refitted, exited to see this running...
Yup,70 series. Its is odd and I hope its just me not looking incorrectly. This truck was exported to Spain before coming to NY and its my 1st Toyota so I am learning as I go. Thanks
