Further to my request for vehicle advice (for an overland trip through Africa), it occurs to me that my daughter's friend (and husband) may not have much experience of driving offroad. Does anyone know of a training course they could do to gain some experience, preferably using 80...

A friend of my daughter is planning an overland trip to South Africa, via West Africa, early next year. There will be two adults and a small child.
First, although they've decided on a Landcruiser - which one? I'm tempted to suggest an 80 Series, but a 95 would seem a more economical...

It only a whim really, I'm just after the owner's manual for future ref. (like fuses, for example) and simply to have one to go with the Cruiser - currently the only thing I'd like to know is what the 'Mode' button does on the heater controls...
