OK guys, update time!
So Wednesday I drove to Wandin and met up with Tony S.
Betsy (Tony's 40) looked just as beautiful in real life!
The day was then spent with Tony, and my now boss John. Driving round the property, and designing the cross country course for a big even which is happening in 6 weeks time.
My job for the next 6 weeks will be building all the new horse jumps that need to be built.
The equestrian business they run here currently stables 110 horses and also does teaching and other horsey stuff.
They have a few girls who live on site in converted fruit picker cottages.
So the job I've been given includes 3 meals a day (so all my food), all my washing and cleaning done, and I've got my own room in one of the cottages, next door to 3 young horsey girls.
+ a wage.
I'm actually earning more than I was in the UK, and obviously havnt got any rent to pay. So financially I'm a lot better off.
Oh and another great thing...................................
The Melbourne 4x4 show is hosted here every year on the property, and its next Sunday!
The boss, his wife, and son (who is the same age as me) are all really really nice people.
Today was my first day working in OZ. We cant start on the horse jumps just yet, so I've spent the day with the boss and his son, painting the outside of the sons house.
11 hour day in 33 degree heat! Think I will sleep well tonight.
Heres the house I've been painting.
And this is the view from where I'm sitting now.
They've got loads of trucks and trailers here and they've said they will help get all my stuff and truck back from the port. They've also said there is loads of room to store everything.
They are good friends with a customs inspector who works at Melbourne Sea Port, and I'm going to see him this weekend to discuss clearing my container when it arrives.
They've got some lovely LandCruisers on the property.
Will get some more pics when I get chance.
So all in all I'm very very very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Things are working out well.
I must say a huge thank you to all the guys who setup this club. Had it not been for this club I wouldn't have ever attended the awesome club events held at Lincomb. Had I not attended them I wouldn't have met Tony S.
Big big thank you to Tony!
Tony kindly asked all his friends in OZ if they had any work for me, and thats how I've ended up here in Wandon.
It feels like one of those places where you may find yourself, and then 10-20 years time your still there!
Anyway thats enough of me rambling....................
Will try and get some decent pics taken and posted soon.
Just one small observation.................................Temp in UK 1 degree (9.45am)
And here 21 degrees (8.45pm)
Know where I'd rather be!
