the straight through crew.

Straight through for the 80!

Meanwhile, Ems 2010 rav has failed on serious corrosion amongst other things.
Looks a completely different vehicle underneath than it did last time I looked about three years ago..

It will be retiring to the sunny climes of Africa I think..

Yet another straight through for the 80, no advisories although he tried.

Even the handbrake impressed.

Our 40 went through with no advisories but the was a discussion between two of the testers and the manager because our new BFGs have a more pronounced shoulder on them which really pushes the limit on the flares but Corinne pointed out to them that because of the tracks in the mountains and desert we run them at a lower pressure - and the manager ruled them ok. Realistically if we run them at +40, as recommended, the truck behaves like Tigger on uneven tarmac!

Not quite a straight through this year. An advisory for "Underside heavily greased/oiled". No leaks so that'll be the liberal use of motorcycle chain lube & ACF 50 then. I can live with that!

I asked about the tyres (BFG AT) which are still well over the legal limit but now showing their age at 11 yrs old and 40k miles. A lot of minute cracks appearing in the sidewalls and siping but not an MOT issue apparently. £670 fitted for a set of 4 back in 2013, now £940. Blimey!

So the truck went straight through, no advisories for the first time in a very long time, woo woo! And I didn't have to do anything besides drop it off at Mr chapelgates for a little spa weekend of tinkering..thanks again :)

Not straight through for me this year unfortunately. Never owned a vehicle with this style of wheel bearings, never thought to check them. Failed on both having some play, couple hrs and it was all nipped up and ready for its retest and passed.

Let the 80 down today.... first ever fail but immediate pass without retest and no advisories ....
The middle seat bet lap strap was folded out the way and stuck under the seat so it "failed" .... tester asked if I could get it free...15 seconds.... and then passed it... it's much appreciated to have a sensible MOT test company locally .

Hehe, yes makes it so much less painful to have a sensible tester with some level of common sense. My local now they know me and my cars better have been very good to me. They are thorough but fair.

Did they actually put a FAIL on your MOT history for that? I would not be happy

Took this for MOT today. GX 100 series cheap but needed welding (done) and handbrake attention. All rest ok.
Passed no advisories, so will use through the winter.
Drives great, roomy and smooth with no AHC to worry about and I do like the cloth interior.

Back at the MOT station yesterday with the 120. Straight through with only one comment about the brake pipes going into the LSV looking like they might need a rub up anytime soon but not an advise.
Not bad for 178k and 20 years old used every single day. Coating regularly with the WD motorbike chain lube underneath has paid off, it's still rock solid if not a little sticky.

I got an advisory back in August for "excessive" oil/grease on the underside after using ACF50 and chain lube in places for protection. I guess it depends on the opinion of the tester as to what's acceptable here.

Same here .... I use spray grease liberally everywhere underneath and also regularly spray AC90 in the arches and sills etc.... it has been mentioned a couple of times as advisories although last 2 Mots are "no advisories".....
I sometimes wonder if they have to occasionally give advisories to show they are looking properly
