I’ve completed the rust work. Lots of elbow grease plus Jenolite and finished with Lanoguard.

Underbody protection-replacement sump guard/transmission/fuel tank guard etc. In doing the rust prevention work I discovered the original sump guard appears to be made from tin foil! I’m erring on the side of suspension with a 2” lift but as a newbie the choice and terminology is bewildering.

I’m thinking from an off-road/green lane perspective. I’ve got decent AT tyres. Was considering a snorkel but that can wait (although they look great too!) So for me its protection or suspension next.

I saw a post by the guys at WestCoast recently which suggested that the first 3 mods should be 1. Tyres 2. Suspension 3. Protection. What are your thoughts?

Rather embarrassingly, I’ve just discovered I have no jack in my recently acquired 150! I believe it should have a bottle jack located in the passenger side cubby hole in the boot area? Any recommendations for an alternative or should I source an original of ebay or similar?

I’m going to attack the rust on mine in a month or so. In addition to some ramps for access and various brushes/wheels I’m planning on applying Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 and cavity wax before using Lanoguard. Does this look like a reasonable plan??

That makes sense, had a few hairy moments using the metal ones before! I’ll look out for some wider, plastic alternatives.

They’re original but to correct my original post the size is 245/70/17. I’ve been assured that 265/65/17 will be fine…….I hope so because I’ve just ordered a set of Yokohama Geolander AT GO15. Black Circle had 15% off flash sale!

Appreciate the advice. I’ve eliminated dozens in the last few months on MOT history-specifically persistent advisories and/or fails on rust/corrosion. Recently seen a few ‘09 120’s with low’ish milages at around £12-14K-obviously they might actually sell for less. Reckon you did well at that price.

Tax is £395 on this ‘09, not sure if its true of all? Was the injector seal/washer issue resolved by ‘09? I’ll do a bit of research on the import route, though it it adds another level of anxiety onto the whole car buying process!
