    Front to rear brake pipes.

Agree with @karl2000 Just had a quick look under mine (no rear air con on mine) and they do go close to the tank but would say if the car was elevated should be able to replace without and tank removal.

A Pillar removal with SRS Air Bag

All done. Easy as. Two bolts to remove the grab handle. Peal back the door seal. Give it a light twist towards the windscreen and then pull up to remove. Plenty of space windscreen side and away from the air bag to route the cables. Cable tied to Toyota wiring loom so no chance of effecting...

A Pillar removal with SRS Air Bag

Morning all, Have a new headset which is also DAB so have one of the windscreen DAB aerials to install. Anyone removed the passenger A pillar cover with Air Bag? After a bit of advice to make sure I don’t damage the airbag on removal/re-installation. Anyone done this? Got photos? Got...

    April 2021 Upgrade - Whoops

Thanks for updating and keeping the site going, it’s a pain having to constantly upgrade/update (mainly for security issues, or at least closing them off) but necessary. What colour things are or the exact layout isn’t that important to me. Most important part is US posting and helping other...

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Took the opportunity of good weather to do the same as @Towpack - out at 8am this morning and none stop wire brushing and AquaSteeling, just packed up some 7 1/2 hours later. Have completed from the rear up to the front doors. Didn't have it in me to complete the front - that’s for another day.

    Upper rear lights

@Shayne Agree MOTs are always a bit of a lottery. Once had my motorbike fail as it didn’t have a rear red reflector, then stuck a small round one on the number plate which couldn’t have been much bigger than a 5p piece and it passed. If anyone knows how that makes it safer then they are a...

A single mains battery charger that can run on 110 and 240 volts?

What is your shore power hook up going to actually power? Is everything internally 12v and you only need to run a charger? Or will you also have internals that are mains powered? Asking as it might change the set up - battery chargers are cheap enough and you could always have a 110 hook up...

    Road tax hike

Grrrrrr. Same here @TonyP . Always hated the road tax as a Band B can do thousands and thousands of miles a year for £20 kicking out much more than someone in bank L (us) paying 3x the yearly rate of B every month!! but may only drive a few thousand miles. Even though it’s keeping an older...

WTF - Ban adverts for SUVs & 4x4s

Just watched the lunchtime news and there’s a campaign for banning the adverts of SUVs and 4x4s and it compared it to banning the adverts for smoking!! solar controller help pls

Usually the “load” terminals are for low wattage items, so it depends on what you want to run off it. If it’s higher wattage and/or might be in future then it’s best to run direct off the battery (fusing as appropriate).

    Awning on 120LWB - Question: 2m or 2.5m?

Cheers @Chris - I suspected that 2.5 would be too long, whilst it will “fit” there would be quite an overhang at the front. That’s why I was after some pics / experience from others. Was debating getting a section of pvc downpipe and cut to length to get an idea of how it may sit. Was also...

Okay, I’m going to take the plunge and treat myself to an awning to mount to the trusted 120 as I’m banking on us being able to drive further than the end of the road soon! but ..... I’m unable to decide on 2m or 2.5m (length along the truck). I would like the largest possible but not sure if...

Interesting, and yes I’d say there to frighten. Interesting it says “in a manner that constitutes an offence”. So if it’s a byway and you are legal (as in tax, mot, insurance) then surely it wouldn’t be an offence? Although section 59 states Vehicles used in manner causing alarm, distress or...

    Steering getting stiff

Had the issue about this time last year, notchy steering. Mine was sorted by the part shown in post 7 @Zmayski A bit of rubbing on the joint with a wire brush and then coating in oil solved the issue, eventually it’ll need replacing, but was an instant fix. I do occasionally lube it with a bit...

I’m recently running 265/70R17 on standard suspension and seeing no issues with rubbing, etc. As @Rob Cowell states it fits on rear door too, not sure if an underslung option has the space though, but can’t see it being an issue. Also had an advisory on rear coils having “some” corrosion...

Linkage to wiper motor on Landcruiser Amazon (VX) 100 HDJ100 4.2l (1HDFTE) TD RHD (2005)

It’s a shame and seems completely ridiculous to me that a “plastic” wearable part is not replaceable and the stock answer is “replace the whole linkage”. It doesn’t take too much stress and I made a replacement. Was lucky had some nylon packer knocking around and drilled through then shaped to...

Linkage to wiper motor on Landcruiser Amazon (VX) 100 HDJ100 4.2l (1HDFTE) TD RHD (2005)

Doesn’t that just connect to the wiper arm mechanism? Not sure if it’s the same on yours but on my 120 it’s a plastic shaped unit that simply snaps over. Problem is that mr T told me that it’s a not replaceable part and you have to buy the whole linkage! I made a makeshift fitting some 2 years...
