@Towpack Sounds like something similar to what I have. From 2100 to 3000. Sounds like a squeal. Removed serpentine belt but still present. Will try the belt for alternator and fan. If not that then possible from the turbo.

I have done 5000 miles on the new tyres and wear is even across the tread. IMO first try alignment as only about £60. But make sure the machine settings are for a AHC and show them the top wishbone joints as you can clearly see that they are adjustable.

Also looking to either replace or re-bush the upper and lower control arms because bushes are EOL. The cost from Rough Trax for a lower control is £100 which is cheaper than rebuilding and of course I would also have to clean up the old arms and re-spay which equals more cost and time.

Question??? What is the opinion on when to use Genuine parts as opposed to pattern parts? Engine gaskets and seals- OEM? Control arms - Rebuild using OEM bushes or pattern part? Or just buy the cheapest?

Question???? Whilst doing the EGR delete and de-coke; The intake ports are MUCH more coked up at the back of the engine. The front two have hardly any deposits. Seems a bit strange as I would have though that cooler at the front and hotter at the rear would mean more deposits at the front...

I just came across this post after I was looking for a breaker who does LC. Saw 80breaker and thought wow. Can someone post any other sources for 100 parts, apart from Karl, as when I need something I want it straight away so like to shop around.

Replaced wore drivers upper door hinge. Used a genuine part (£62) and rattle can from Halfords (£6). Discovered why there's a side indicator in the wing, its real function is an access hole to see the bolts for the hinge. :)

So you have the same on your 100? So assume if if only makes contact occasionally then, its there as a dampener when the belt throws a a wobbly?

That’s what I would expect but it’s not adjustable. It’s just an idler on a fixed bracket.

After trying to find the source of an unknown noise noticed that IP1 for the Fan Belt does not touch the belt. There are signs of contact with the pulley on the belt which was replaced 4k ago where it makes occasional contact with the pulley. Is this right?
